Since 2015, we’ve been sharing the Victoria we love. Best known for our Yarra Valley wine tours, we’re a small local team creating memorable journeys filled with great places, great people and plenty of good times.

Amazing is the sociable one. It is built for a group that is not all drinking, and not all the same age: two hosted wine tastings, a fruit stop at the farm gate, a guided chocolate tasting, and a proper sit-down lunch in the middle of it.
You meet in Southbank at 8:45am and we leave the city at 9. The day takes in three Yarra Valley estates, with hosted tastings at two of them, and lunch at Quarters, where you order what you actually feel like eating rather than a set menu chosen for you.
Children are welcome, wine is not compulsory, and gin at the end of the afternoon is there if you want it. You are back in the city around 5:30pm.

Why lunch is not in the price
Leaving lunch out keeps the fare lower and lets everyone eat what they actually want, including smaller plates for children and something light if the tastings have already done their work. You order at the table from the Quarters menu.

Hubert Estate is the third estate of the day and where we stop to eat. You order from the Quarters menu and pay for your own meal, with enough time to sit down properly rather than eat standing up.
Any extra drinks or a tasting at Hubert Estate are also at your own expense, and depend on time and availability on the day.

Mid-afternoon, between the chocolate and the drive home, we stop at the distillery scheduled for your date. Deciding at the venue instead costs more, and the venue is set by the day your tour runs rather than chosen by guests.

A seasonal fruit tasting at the farm-gate shop, taking in whatever is being picked plus the farm’s own preserves and products.

At the Yarra Valley Chocolaterie & Ice-Creamery, with time afterwards to work through the counter and buy whatever you cannot leave behind.

Meeting point and practical information
Morning, meet at 8:45am
Arts Centre Melbourne Spire, 6/2 St Kilda Road, Southbank VIC 3006. Look for the Spire on St Kilda Road, beside Protagonist café. Your host will be waiting with the vehicle.
We aim to leave the city at 9:00am, so allow time to get there. Have breakfast before you arrive, since the first stop is a fruit tasting rather than a meal.
Afternoon, back around 5:30pm
Drop-off near ACMI at Federation Square, a short walk from Flinders Street Station and the tram network. Traffic can move that a little.
Bring water, comfortable shoes and a layer. The valley runs cooler than the city and part of the day is outdoors.
What to look for on arrival: the Spire, on the St Kilda Road footpath.

Welcome on every departure, at $99 on weekdays and $109 on weekends. The wine, cider and gin tastings are for guests 18 and over.
Non-drinkers
This is the tour we point non-drinkers towards. Fruit, chocolate, the farm gate and the estates themselves make a full day without a single tasting.
Booking terms
Booking May to October. Quieter months have a minimum number of guests. If your date does not reach it, we will let you know at least two days before, and you can move to another date, switch tours or take a full refund. No fuss. To check your date first, email us.

Amazing tour questions
Is Amazing suitable for children?
Yes, and it is the only public Yarra Valley tour we run that welcomes them. Children travel at the child rate. The fruit tasting, the chocolate tasting and the venues suit all ages; the wine, cider and gin tastings are for guests 18 and over.
How many hosted wine tastings are included?
Two, at Yering Station and Yering Farm. The day visits three estates in total. Hubert Estate is the third, and that is the lunch visit rather than a hosted tasting. Any tasting or extra drinks at Hubert Estate are at your own expense and depend on time and availability.
Is lunch included?
No. Lunch is at your own expense at Quarters, Hubert Estate. You order from the menu and pay for your own meal, which keeps the fare lower and lets everyone eat what they feel like, including smaller plates for children. Lunch venues depend on availability, so on the odd day we may switch to another winery at short notice. If you have any questions, just get in touch.
What does the optional gin tasting cost?
$15 per adult when you add it to your booking. It is optional rather than part of the standard fare, and the tasting is for guests 18 and over. Deciding at the venue costs up to $20 per adult.
Which gin distillery will we visit?
It is set by the day your tour runs rather than chosen by guests: Stag Lane Farm Distillery on Mondays and Thursday through Sunday, and Four Pillars Gin Distillery on Tuesdays and Wednesdays. You will know which one applies to your date before you book.
Can I decide to do the gin tasting on the day?
Yes. A gin paddle bought on the day at the distillery costs up to $20 per adult. Adding gin when you book costs $15 per adult, so it usually works out cheaper to add it then.
Where does the tour meet?
The Arts Centre Melbourne Spire, 6/2 St Kilda Road, Southbank, beside Protagonist café. Meet at 8:45am. We aim to leave the city at 9:00am, so allow time to get there.
What time does the tour return?
We leave the valley about 4:15pm and arrive back in Melbourne around 5:30pm, dropping off near ACMI at Federation Square. Traffic can move that a little.
How many guests are on the tour?
A maximum of 20 guests per departure. Small enough that your host can look after everyone and that venues can host the group properly.
Do prices change with the date?
Yes. Weekends, peak periods and public holidays carry a surcharge, which covers the higher running costs on those days and lets us keep the same quality of tour all year. The fare for your date is shown when you select it in the calendar, before you pay.
What happens if not enough guests book my date?
Between May and October, departures need a minimum number of guests to run. If your date does not reach it, we will let you know at least two days before, and you can move to another date, switch to another tour or take a full refund. No fuss. To check whether your date is likely to run, email contact@dancingkangarootours.com.au.
Can non-drinkers join?
Easily, and plenty do. Between the fruit tasting, the chocolate tasting, lunch and the estates themselves, there is a full day here without drinking anything. This is the tour we suggest for mixed groups.
Can dietary requirements be accommodated?
Because lunch is ordered on the day, you choose from the Quarters menu and can talk to the bistro directly about what you need. Tell us at booking as well and we will flag it ahead of the day.
Can venues or timings change?
Sometimes. Times and the order of stops can move for traffic, venue availability or how the day is running, and a venue can occasionally be replaced with something comparable. The shape of the day stays the same: fruit, two hosted wine tastings, three estates, chocolate and the optional gin stop.
What should guests bring?
Money or a card for lunch and any purchases, water, comfortable shoes and a layer for the cooler valley air. Breakfast before you arrive is a good idea, since the first stop is a fruit tasting rather than a meal.
Is hotel pick-up available?
Not on the scheduled public tour, which meets at the one city point to keep the day on time. If you need collection from your door, a private Yarra Valley tour is the better fit.
How does Amazing differ from Epic and Relaxed?
Amazing is the full-day variety tour: three estate visits including two hosted wine tastings, plus fruit, chocolate, optional gin, lunch at your own expense, and children welcome.
Epic is the flagship full day, the most wine-focused, with a two-course lunch and a glass of wine included, adults only. Relaxed is an adults-only half day with a midday start and three wineries. You can compare all three side by side.
